The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
You don’t have to eat delicious food all the time for it to nourish you. Sometimes Scripture reading can be dry. This does not mean it is not nourishing. We feel we should have some deep insights from the Scriptures to share or we should have experienced some dramatic manifestations of God’s presence. We get disappointed when that doesn’t always happen. Sometimes normal life is quietly growing without a great fanfare. It is putting one foot ahead of the other on a long journey. It is saying ‘no’ to something harmful. Or it is showing up instead of giving up. It is OK if we have no dramatic insights or stories to tell but we have become nurtured from continuing in the Scriptures. We have sought to be faithfully present. This too is miraculous.
